Denver Botanic Garden Colorado Flower colorchallenge tuesdayorange

Is this an orange flower or is it purple? Is it one flower or many flowers? I do not know, but it caught my attention as I toured the Denver Botanic Garden during my trip to Colorado.

Yesterday I posted this same flower to the monomad challenge for macro photography in black and white and I thought it looked like a bunch of light bulbs in that edit. When I see it in color I wish I could have watched it to see what happened next.
