Hello Steemians,

I want to share with you a photo I'd taken about 4 years ago in Azuga, Romania.

Recognized that you had been in Transylvania, how is that? And where to go if I am there :)

It's really nice and picturesque. There are plenty of things to do and see. The biggest and most developed city is Cluj-Napoca and it is also well located. The city has an international airport and it is pretty easy to get there - both Tarom and Wizzair are operating on Cluj-Napoca airport. The city hosts two major music festivals, Untold and Electric Castle Festival - both of them are scheduled during summer.

For historical places and nice fortifications, you should see Sighisoara (a small medieval city) which is not far from Cluj, around 150km away, Alba-Iulia(another fortified city) and Corvin Castle. You might want to go to Sibiu which was the European Capital of Culture in 2007. Bran Castle(also known as Dracula's Castle) is located in Bran(around 300 km away from Cluj). If you wanna see Bran Castle, you could look for accommodation either in Bran, either in Brasov (another picturesque city). For hiking, Prahova valley is the most popular - Azuga is one of the small cities from this valley.

Thank younfor the answers :) at what time of the year is it best to go

Is there any good place for swimming, nearby a lake or something? :)

There is a place at 155 km away from Cluj, called Baile Felix - I haven't been there, but the location is famous for the thermal waters. They have also a new aquapark.
The prices are good - of course, it depends where you want to stay as the major hotel groups have similar prices to the ones in Western Europe, but if you pick a B&B, it will be cheaper. Food is also great and cheap. You should try the traditional dishes.

Thank you very much :) I bear it mind, maybe going there during the year

You're welcome :) I will post more about Transylvania in the near future, so you will get an idea about the best places to go to

Good, will follow :)

And final question, how is the pricelevel here? :)

So, you recomend summer as the best season? :)

Yes, summer will be the best period to visit. You can also consider the beginning of September. During autumn and winter there is a lot of rain or snow. During winter it gets pretty cold :)

Cheers, hows the price level - what can I expect for a beer and meal? Hotel? Same level as in Hungary and Czech Republic, or even cheaper?

It's pretty similar to Czeck Republic :)

One more thing :) If you like to drive, you should definitely try Transfagarasan road. It is only open during the summer time. I've been there. It's spectacular. You can watch a video from Top Gear here:

Thank you for your nice comment, @jlufer! I'm glad you like it :)

WOW!! My first glance at your stunning photo took my breath away.
Thanks so much for sharing this image of magnificent beauty.

My pleasure:D I'm glad you like it :) it's a really nice ski resort with very beautiful views

I believe it was the Carpathian Mountains that stunned me, how they look so menacing and intimidating. Amazing photo!

They really look awesome. The peaks from this photo arenot the highest ones that can be found in Romania. I will share more pics from that region in another post

Yes, they are intimidating, but beautiful at the same time!!
