Jade Birds - "Drops of Matter Collaborate Art Journey"
Jade Birds
This peice of art is a response to an invitation into a collaborate art journey from @everlove

Gratitude to @everlove for putting this together, and all of the amazing work that you do :)
These totems I see as guardians of the land, green is for healing and abundance. The shape and style is reminiscent of Mayan or Aztec imagery - this is a sky or bird being. The bird beings represent flight and freedom, and transcendence. It could also be a clue to our intergalactic heritage, with a connection to many star nations who have helped us along or perhaps even been a part of our DNA.
My Process
Using this initial image offering (drops of matter), I had the basic idea to use it as a texture for a drawing.
I found this old vector drawing that I had started a very long time ago, and never finished. I liked the centre piece so I decided to use that bird as my basic shape.
Simplifying the bird into nice block shapes, I then exported it as a PNG with a transparent background.
From there I took an old photo of the trees near where I live, and used that as the background with the darkness turned way up. I then used a clipping mask to get the 'drops of matter' texture into the bird totem shape, and brightened the colours a bit. I duplicated the Jade bird a few times and arranged them nicely - which gives us the finished piece, yeeehaaa!
Thank you for coming along on this Journey
