Coinbase Customer Service
Like a week ago Coinbase restricted my account to buy cryptocurrency. I am dealing with their customer service since. Here I will share my experience with them.
First, let's start why it did restrict. I have this account more than 1 year and I was able to buy and sell anything they have with using my bank account. A week ago I wanted to add another bank account to my account. To be specific my friend's account so he can buy something. They don't say you cannot add anyone else's account to buy the coin. so we thought instead of he wires me the money and I buy the coin, we can use his bank account directly so he won't need to pay the double fee to his bank. (ADVISE DO NOT DO THAT) After we add the nack account my account gets restricted. not only new payment method get canceled. I cannot buy any coin using USD now.
Now let me explain what did I do to able to get rid of the restriction on my account. First I deleted new bank account since the problem was it I thought It could help it didn't then I call their customer service. I waited 30 mins on hold before I reached an operator. The operator told me he cannot do anything about this restriction he needs to send my case to a specialist and he created a case for me and told me there is currently high waiting time due to too many requests. I waited 1 whole week there was no update. so I decided to call back this time I waited 57 mins on the line to ask a contact point to those specialist that suppose to look my case. The only thing I get back is you need to wait. when I asked how long he said I cannot give time. When I asked will it be weeks or months he again said I cannot give you any time also he said I cannot give you any contact point, not even an email address.
Right now all the prices are extremely low and I want to buy Bitcoin but it looks like I won't be able to do that.
I hope it is only me who had a problem with Coinbase but If you also have an issue please share them maybe they see.
Also If you know any other place to buy Bitcoin using USD from USA please tell me.
Phoenix139 not sure if this option will be available where you may be, but consider going to bitcoin.com and using the ATM radar. You can use the ATM to make a deposit into any bitcoin wallet, including the bitcoin wallet associated with your Coinbase account. Be aware there will be fees. Personally, I find the 8% fee at the Coinsource ATMs to be fair. Shop around because not all ATMs are the same;0)
@cryptomatters Thank you for advice. ATM is not an easy option for me since the closest one is like 150 miles but bitcoin.com looks like a good option.
