Ji Zha, the prince of State of Wu at Zhou dynasty, had a precious sword. On his way to visit the state of Jin, he dropped by the state of Xu. Noticed the King of Xu liked his sword, Ji planed to give the sword to the King as a gift. Because Ji still needed the sword to go to the state of Jin, he did not tell it to anybody and decided to do it when he came back. When Ji was back, the king of Xu was already dead. Ji Zha hung the sword on the tree by the King’s Tomb because he already promised the King in his own mind.

Yan Ying (578-500BC), the prime minister of the state of Qi (at present Shandong province) during Spring and Autumn period of China, considered three warriors to be arrogant and harmful to the state. Yan would like to eliminate the three warriors but was afraid of their military powers. At last, Yan tricked the three warriors to commit suicide by rewarding the three warriors two peaches. 季札出访晋国路过徐国。徐国国王很喜欢季札的宝剑。季札决定把宝剑送给徐王但是没有对任何人讲，因为他还需要带这把宝剑去晋国。回到徐国时，徐王已经去世。季札就把宝剑挂在徐王墓前的树上，因为他已经在心里许诺过徐王。

齐国晏婴认为公孙接、田开疆、古冶子三个勇士傲慢无礼对国家有害，就赏赐三人两颗桃，让他们论功自取桃。公孙接与田开疆认为功高各取一桃。古冶子认为自己功劳更大却得不到桃而愤怒。拿了桃了勇士羞愧自己的贪婪认为活下去是无勇，于是自杀。古冶子认为两个人都死了，自己活下去不仁不义，也自杀了。晏婴用两颗桃就把三个勇士解决了。
