在华人赤手空拳下南洋，经济条件还未起家的年代，多半家的周边都会中这样的蔬菜。要炒米粉时，为了加料，就加入马尼菜来炒，发现口味也非常独特。
所以每当马尼菜炒米粉上桌，虽不是名贵菜肴，但是大家都不会拒绝。因为吃的不只是味道，还是过去对先辈的情感。
