I love learning Mandarin. I started with rosetta stone about 5 years ago. I randomly chose this language because it sounded like 'blah blah blah' before I understood it. But I'm so glad I did =D
Great post and pronunciation too. Immersion is the best way to learn it. I've tried talking with Chinese people but still struggle as I'm trying to translate in my head while they speak so fast. This is the part that just comes naturally over time.
Haha, it's funny because I took it for a similar reason; I can't wait till I get to a stage where I can understand someone speaking back to me... practice makes perfect :-)

have no chance to use it.

Yes we always need practice, I need a bit more confidence before I can practice with Chinese speakers :-)

Can you read or write chinese characters?
Excellent! The app I have is teaching me characters, but that is harder for me. Though I have memorised the ones for Ai 爱 and Tian 天 and Xing 星.
Also I know some of the numbers like most of the ones from 1-10, it is nice because now I can start to recognise some in Chinese writing :-)

Hahaha never knew this platform can be this useful. You can just ask people from the world to judge your learning process, which is chinese in this case. By the way, you speak well. I would give a 70% on the pronunciation. Keep it up!
