Ching-An Palace is known as Mazu Temple that probably all the Keelung locals know this place.

Today I will take you to the temple to see the free gift of Spring Festival couplets. Hope that I can bring you good luck.

In the Chinese world, during the Lunar New year, it is necessary to post Spring Festival couplets to pray for better luck in the coming year.

The management team of Chin-An Palace finds a few masters to write the couplets. Chinese people are probably the people who are most care of luck and blessing. Take a look at the crowd in the queue, we can see how important the custom of posting Spring Festival couplets is in the New year's activities.

Spring couplets originated in the Song Dynasty of China. The former couplets were not necessarily written on paper, some would be written on silk cloth, some would be written on peach planks.

We often have the habit of putting "Fu" or "Spring" upside down which is originated from the story of Zhu Yuanzhang. The emperor Zhu Yuanzhang once used the word "Fu" as a mark to kill people.
When Queen Ma knew that, she asked people in the whole city to put the word "Fu" on the door. One person could not read, so he puts upside down the word. The emperor was so angry that he wanted to kill the whole family. Queen Ma tells Zhu that they know the emperor's visit and deliberately put the word upside down to represent the blessing is coming. The emperor is happy and releases the family. From then on. people are used to putting the blessing word upside down.

過年前，我剛好有事情來到慶安宮附近辦事，說到慶安宮，基隆人都稱為媽祖廟，只要講媽祖廟，基隆當地人大概沒有人不知道，反而比慶安宮這個名稱更為人所知。

外地人喜歡到基隆廟口夜市，對於基隆當地人來說，媽祖廟也是另一個小吃集中區，這裏隨便一家不起眼的小店，可能都有50年以上的歷史。

不過今天要帶大家來看廟方免費贈送春聯，希望能帶給大家好運。
下次再帶大家來逛逛慶安宮及附近的小吃。

在華人的世界，新年期間少不了貼春聯招祥納福，祈求來年更好的福氣。廟方找了幾位老師當場揮毫，瞧瞧這排隊的人潮，可以想見貼春聯這個習俗在過年的活動中有多重要，中國人大概是全世界最重視運氣與福氣的民族了，當然不會放過這個添福添壽的機會。

春聯最早起源於中國宋朝，以前的春聯不一定寫在紙上，有的會寫在綢布上，有的會寫在桃木板上，包括趨吉的宜春帖，和避凶的桃符，逐漸相互影響演化成現在的春聯。

大家常有種習慣，把「福」或「春」倒著貼，代表福到了或春到了。福字倒貼的由來據說跟朱元璋有關。朱元璋有次將「福」字做為記號殺人，馬皇后知道後，就下令全城在自家門上貼上「福」字。（很不給老公面子哪）
其中一戶人家不識字，因此把福字貼倒了，朱元璋龍顏大怒，下令將那戶人家滿門抄斬。

馬皇后急中生智，告訴朱元璋那家人是知道皇帝來訪，故意將福字貼倒，代表「福到了」的意思。皇帝一聽龍心大悅，便下令放人。從此以後，一方面為求吉利，一方面為紀念馬皇后，大家就習慣把福字倒過來貼。

雖然說貼春聯有趨吉避凶的作用，不過Teresa要提醒大家一些貼春聯的小技巧，因為春聯如果貼錯，可是會不吉利的喔！

1⃣上下聯不可貼錯：

如果你的春聯是兩幅直聯及一幅橫聯，直聯的最後一字若是仄聲字（注音三、四聲），就是上聯。如果是平聲字（注音一、二聲），就是下聯。上聯貼在右邊，下聯貼在左邊，可別貼反了喔！

2⃣大門口不要貼春：

大門口可以貼「福」或「招財進寶」等春聯，不要貼「春」。因為在古代，只有妓院之類的聲色場所才會在門口貼春，一般家庭在門口貼春會容易招來爛桃花。

3⃣大門口不要倒貼春聯：

這點大家一定會很納悶，倒貼春聯不是代表財到福到的意思嗎？其實倒貼春聯應該貼在水缸、冰箱、內門等儲藏物品的地方，但是大門口就不適合了。因為大門口是出入的地方，倒貼春聯會有把福氣、錢財倒光光的意思。

4⃣舊春聯要撕下來：

把舊春聯撕下和撕破代表除舊佈新的意思。千萬不要把新春聯貼在舊春聯上面，這樣才能轉好運。

這些小地方稍微注意一下，春聯會為你增加很多節慶的喜氣和氣氛喔！
