March 2023 Solar Breakdown
Happy Easter to everyone who is reading this on this Friday 7th March 2023 we have an overcast day here which will not help with solar generation, but it may clear later.
March 2023
March 2023 was the first full month of having the Powerwall Battery after getting it installed in the middle of February.
The below graph shows where and how the energy we produced was used from left to right
- Blue shows how much energy our house used 599KW
- Orange shows the solar panels made 674KW of energy
- Grey shows how much energy the powerwall supplied the house 352KW
- Yellow shows how much energy we used from the grid 106KW
- Light blue shows how much we sent to the grid 141KW
This shows the above in raw data and also the average daily amounts for March 2023
So March turned out pretty well, but it is the last month of summer sunny sunshine as we now head into Winter.
Tesla App
The Tesla app allows me to look at all parts of the system and make changes on the go, this is the main screen which shows what you need to see.
This shows the house usage and the solar input, down the bottom shows what the battery is doing.
Going into Winter is going to be interesting to see how the system performs, the battery only needs 4-5 hours of good sunshine to charge back to 100%.
The house can run normally on solar in the daytime while the battery gets us through the nights no problems.
I did get a price for 4 x extra panels which will cost $4k installed and would give us 33% more power generation, thinking about it.
Anyway that is my first month Solar update and i plan to do one each month.

You will have a good day sir, see that you have gone through the initial stages of installation, I have never seen anyone install solar panels in person, but in Nigeria a world charity WSP provides many benefits to local residents and helps light up streets and homes Even though until now they are still being upgraded in stages because of the relatively large costs. 👍
