Clay Art Contest #3 - Eagle
Hello there! Here's my entry for the clay art contest with the theme "eagle" hosted by @josejirafa, thank you so for creating this contest.. For more information about this contest, please check the link HERE.
Eagle
In this project, I find it hard to make an eagle using clay and I'm an amateur with this art. But thanks to social media, I got some ideas on how to do it .. I'm using polymer clay (flesh color) which is preferable to me. So let's get started!
Materials:
• Polymer clay (flesh color)
• Cutter
• Rolling pin or any long cylindrical object
• Acrylic paint (brown, black, white, yellow and yellow ocre)
• Paint brush
• toothpick
The process:
• Cut a piece of clay and form a small circle and a cylinder. Use toothpick to connect the two formed clay, the round clay may serve as the head and the cylinder is for the body.
• Cut a piece of clay and form a sharp bill of the eagle and connect to the face. Deform the head and mark his eyes , mark a line between his bill and make a hole in his nose.
• For the wings, cut another piece of clay and flatten it using roller then make a heart shape and divide into two. Stick it to his body.
• For the feet, cut a small piece of clay, roll it over and cut into two pieces . Form a teardrops , pince the other side for the legs, and cut some part of his feet to form it like a sharp talon. Then connect to his body.
• For the feathers, use toothpick or cutter like scratching the skin.
• For the wings, make a stripe and make sure it's close to each other.
• After you're done with the structure, preheat the oven for 110degrees for 10minutes, then bake for 30minutes. When baking is done, let it cool down and start to paint your figure. Use white for the head, yellow ocre for the bill, black for the nose, yellow and black for the eyes, dark brown and black for the wings, brown and white for the body , yellow ocre for the feet, white and brown for the tail and black for the stand object. Voila! The project is done! Hope you like it...

Not kindness, honesty. I can't wait to see what you make for this weeks challenge. From one option to so many. I don't know how to choose. I know mine will come out wonky, I bought gluggy air drying clay and a little bit of polymer. But I like the gluggy stuff.
I made a hideous Slothicorn, it is hilarious. I am terrible at it, but I think it is so much fun and important to post my crappy stuff. It is part of my process to starting out with sculpture and maybe it will encourage other people to have a go when they see my humble efforts. I just saw your cute little flower, amazing.

Thank you @girlbeforemirror... I want to try a modelling clay too but I only have a polymer a gift that I got last year , and I started this art maybe a month ago and I really love it... I used to watched tutorial too lol! At this week's theme it's really preferable for all of us but I don't know what cartoon character i will make lol! I invited some of my groups to join this contest and 3 of them are interested... Everybody's creations are unique including yours, honestly clay art is not easy, but because we want to, we inspired doing it even me.. I used to failed making it too and do it all over again until i get satisfied with the result... It's a big help for me to join this contest, it's not about the prize, but it's because I'm inspired doing it and I've never seen clay art contest in steemit... I'm glad @josejirafa comes out with this idea... it helps us to find ourselves making a new hobbies here ... Best luck to all of us...
I guess the theme this week is really difficult. You were the first to submit an entry, I wager its probably because of that. Anyways, great post once more @tonie. You are monopolizing the game here lol. Will check back again after the 7 days. Wont mess it up this time lol

This weeks theme is so difficult I tried making an eagle, but my work end up like a "penguin" lol
