Mozart: Requiem KV 626, Rex tremendae (LIVE)
Continuing from our last post, Introitus and Kyrie from the Mozart Requiem (LIVE), here is another movement from the same concert of Mozart's Requiem. This movement is the "Rex Tremendae" from the Requiem, and it features the basset horns (a type of clarinet) and also the classical trombones.
If you are curious, this was a relatively small orchestra with roughly 11 strings in total plus wind and brass sections. This is in comparison to the modern symphony orchestras that normally field strings sections in excess of 50 people!
This was again performed and recorded live in The Hague by Musica Poetica under the direction of Jorn Boysen.
Our collaborators for this project was the Hollands Vocaal Ensemble.
Performed on historical instruments at 430Hz. Hope you enjoy it!
