A City A Story Photo Weekly Contest#49-【STAIR】~小城故事相片比賽#49-【梯】

If you are a local Hong Kong people, you will know Hong Kong is a place three sides surround by sea and there are many mountains. All the residents are living around the mountains especial in the Hong Kong Island.

The first picture is the most common stair in the Hong Kong Island. It go though the top, middle and the lower level of this area. From long long times ago, the resident divided by different class. The rich are living at the upper part, the poor are living at the lower part. The rich are going out by vehicles, so these stairs are mostly used by the workers such as helpers who go down to the market. I think these concept is the last century people keep in mind, unbelievable, I have a case make me surprise.

I teach at the middle level area, I ask a parent to buy some tools at the shop of lower level district. She tell me that her family will not go there, I think so strange, Hong Kong is a small place, there are no shops at the upper level area. How can they live?
Nowadays, all the class of people are equal, why will she thinking like that? The main point is that they are not the real rich, just the middle class of the soicety.

如果你是本地人，就會知道香港是一個三面環海的地方，而且有很多山，我們都圍繞著山來居住，特別是香港島。

第一張照片是香港島最常見的樓梯，它貫穿這個區域的山頂、山腰和山腳。很久很久以前，社會上分為不同的階層，富人生活在上層，窮人生活在下層，富人外出時只會搭乘車輛，因此這些樓梯主要是給工人們使用，例如傭人們到山腳下的市場買東西。我認為這些概念是上世紀人們根深柢固的，到今時今日我竟然遇上一個難以置信的事件。

我在山腰工作，要求某家長在山腳下的商店購買一些工具給她的子女學習，她竟然告訴我，她的家人是不會去那裡的，我覺得很奇怪，香港是個小地方，山腰上是沒有商店的，他們在那兒買東西？
如今，所有階層的人都是平等的，她為什麼仍然保留這些過時的想法？重點是他們並不是真正的富人，而充其量只是中產階級罷。
