Depending where you live, the majority of people in your community may well believe the contents of this comic to be true. Let that soak in for a minute.
I have a home in Las Vegas and a home in Nebraska. Which one do you think would view this as fact and which one as fiction?
I don't know much about the demographics of Vegas or Nebraska. But I do know that 46% of Americans hold young earth creationist views.
As Christians are 75-80% of Americans, the subset of American Christians that hold creationist views is around 60~%. (The question was worded: “Do you believe that all life on Earth appeared in its present form some time within the last 10,000 years?”)
I would wager that the overlap between YECs and the rapture-ready crowd is near total.
