TRUST IN GOD ALONE

WHAT IS TRUST

Trust is a strong belief in someone or something. It means to have confidence in someone or something. It also means to rely totally on someone or something.

INTRODUCTION
No matter how good or how holy a man is he can never be compared to God almighty. Man can fail at anytime because we are human and we tend to be move by numerous factors.
Trusting in god means acknowledging and placing our confidence totally in only him (proverbs 3:5, Jer 17 : 7-9)
Trusting in God means obeying all his instructions without having the fore-acknowledgement of the outcome. ( Gen 12 vs 1-4)
Trusting in God means moving in accordance to his instructions in the very midst of trials, tribulations, difficulties and all hard times (Gen 12:9-12)
It means not looking at what is happening presently i.e not seeing prevailing circumstances and conditions as factors to doubt his power and supremacy (1 Sam 17 in the story of David and Goliath)
It means to set aside fear and be courageous in the Lord (Psalms 118:6)

WHY WE MUST TRUST IN GOD ALWAYS:

• In Jer 17:5-6we can deduce there that trusting in man brings more havoc than good.
• God cannot change but men are subject to change Heb 13;8
• Men can always fail but God can never fail Num 23:19
• God is too faithful to fail Rom 4:12
• God knows the end from the beginning, Isaiah 40:28
• God is omniscient but man is limited in knowledge Heb 11:11
• God always keep his promises Isaiah 49:15-16
• God can never betray his confidence and his trust we have in him. Heb 13:15

HOW CAN WE TRUST IN GOD?

• Have faith in him Joel 3:10
• Know the power in his divine grace 2Cor 12:8-10
• Show joyful attitude when he instruct you Isaiah 12:2-3
• Through courage and boldness. Psalms 27:1
• Through prayer and supplication Psalms 138:3

WHAT CAN MAKE YOUR TRUST TO SHIVER

• Wrong Association 2 Tim 3:2-4
• Neglecting the assembly of God’s people Heb 10:25
• Using man as God’s standard Exod 32:1
• Wrong discipleship/mentorship Matt 10:24-25
• Materialism 1 Tim 6:9-10
• Bad economy
• Technological advancement

REWARD OF TRUSTING IN GOD

• Victorious living Psalms 125:1
• Divine mercy Psalms 21:7
• Help from above Psalms 28:7
• Perfect peace Isaiah 26:3
• Divine Strength Isaiah 25:4
• You will be a testimony and mentors to other

DANGER OF NOT TRUSTING GOD

• Eternal condemnation Rev 11:18
