3. Prophets:
Prophets are those whom God send to you. We call them those who have been sent to make you see things clearly and go faster in life. They see what you might not see and then show you the way.
They might be sent to you but you have to receive them. If you don’t receive a prophet in the name of a prophet, you won’t derive much benefit from them. Jesus couldn’t do many miracles in His hometown because He was not received.
Hosea 12:10 (NIV):
“I spoke to the prophets, gave them many visions and told parables through them.”
Luke 4:25-26 (NIV):
I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land.
Yet, Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.
He was sent to her and she received him in the name of the prophet. There was famine in the land, she could have ignored Elijah’s plea to make something for him after she already told him that she only wants to eat the last meal with her son and they would both die. She listened, obeyed and the cruise of her oil never ran dry. She enjoyed possibility in a hopeless situation.
