Mormons are not Christians here's why

in #christianity6 years ago

From those of you who know what mormons are or who may be mormon, or maybe your wondering who they are, this is for you.

Mormons or latter-day saints are a organized religion that claims to have a restoration of the gospel much like Islam or Jehovah witness and Catholicism. Mormons claim that in 1823  their first prophet a man named Joseph Smith saw an angel named Moroni gave him special knowledge where to find golden plates of an ancient civilization (that has never left any archaeological evidence or proof that they even existed to this day)  in their current version of The Book of Mormon but in the earlier versions the angel is named Nephi. Nephi is a different person in the Book of Mormon Nephi was the leader of another civilization named   the Nephites, Maroni was supposedly The Last Remnant of the Nephites after a massive battle in the millions between a barbaric civilization lead by his brother Layman leader of the lamanites (another civilization that has never been proven to exist by archaeology anywhere in North or South America where the Book of Mormon takes place)

THE CLAIM OF RESTORATION

LDS believe that the holy bible has corrupted or mistranslated and that "pure and precious" parts of the bible have been removed from the  bible, and the book of Mormon is the rest of the supposedly "lost gospel" but ancient copies of the bible such as the dead sea scrolls (texts written by ancient prophets of the bible that Joseph smith didn't count on being discovered after his death) disprove this. In the earliest copies of the bible that were found in Israel and the neighboring countries in the 1900's show our modern bible is the same and in the Matthew 16:18 in the bible Jesus says for himself "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades(hell) will not overcome it." And Mark 1:15 reads "the kingdom of God is at hand." And Daniel 7:14 "he was given authority,  glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations, and men of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed." Meanwhile Joseph Smith taught during his lifetime that "all churches and professors were corrupt." Both ideas cannot be correct, either Joseph Smith was wrong and Jesus's word proved true or Jesus was a liar and mankind was able to change God's holy word. But as stated before archaeology and discovery shows that Jesus Christ word has stayed  the same though out the ages, so no restoration was ever needed.

TEMPLES

Another claim mormon make is the need for temples because temples were used in the old and new testament but Mormonism has over 150 temples around the world. Some believe Mormonism has so many temples because the higher ups in mormonism and BYU students  believe there is an infinite amount of gods and that they can become gods themselves. Mormonism has more gods than Hinduism which has about 300 million. (Meanwhile Christianity preaches that is only God and there is and ever be only God and no one or anything can ever be like him.)Plus in the old and new testament it commands only one temple and that the temple is only supposed to be on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem because any temple built anywhere else was a sign of rebellion against God. No LDS temple is anywhere near Jerusalem nor does any Mormon temple even resemble solomon's temple of the old or new testament, nor do any of the practices in LDS temples are even like the ones in the bible such as: marriage ceremonies, no marriages ever took place in the temple of the new testament because no women were even allowed in the temple and men who weren't descendants of Aaron (a biblical person) were also not allowed in. The ones who were able in were men that were descendants of Aaron and even out of those men only the high perist could enter the temple and only once a year could he enter the most holy place a special room in the temple.

PROPHETS

Mormons also believe that they have a living prophet, someone who is a mediator between God and humankind. But according to Luke 16:16 the last prophet for mankind was John the Baptist and most of the old testament laws were also done away with. With this 1 Timothy 2:5 states "for there is only one God and one mediator between God and Men, the man Jesus Christ" what this   means is that only Jesus can speak to God for us. In Hebrews 1:1-2 reads "in the past God spoke to our forefathers though the prophets at many times and in various ways but in these last days he has spoken to us by his son. Whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the universe.
