Give Jesus full authority over your life
A crowd follows Jesus as He travels to Nain, about a days walk from Capernaum. As they approach the city gate, Jesus and the crowd are met by another crowd heading for the local grave yard. The funeral is a loud affair. Professional mourners, a custom in that day, have been hired , and they lead the procession clanging cymbals, playing flutes, and, wailing, the mother walks alone behind this sad group. The coffin containing her dead son follows behind. A mother losing her only child is a painful thought. What's more, the woman's husband is also dead. This means she's now completely alone. Whom will she turn to? How will she survive? Who can possibly comfort her heartache now? Her heartache and misery must be unbearable. As Jesus eyes meet hers, He is filled with compassion. It's comforting to know that as we go through heartache, pain, and suffering, Jesus is right there by our side, feeling every tear, every ache, every bit of sorrow. But in this instance, Jesus does more than feel sad. He stops the procession and exercises His authority over death. And something amazing happens. The young man comes back to life and crawls out of the coffin! Today , thousands of people who are trying Eastern philosophies and the "you can improve yourself " religions outlook the fact that Jesus is the only teacher who has authority over death. Other philosophers may have catchy slogans or ideas, but when it comes to death they're powerless. yet in just three years Jesus exercises His power over death at least four times! It's interesting that in Luke 7 : 14 Jesus doesn't say " In the name of God, arise" Instead He proves once again that He is God with the words, "I say to you, get up! "The man rises up and begins talking. All are amazed at Jesus' display of power and they begin to call Him a prophet. (Well at least they're getting close. ---- Jesus wants complete authority over your life. He wants your complete trust. Take some time to evaluate your relationship with Jesus. Is there anything holding you back from giving Him complete authority? Spend time in prayer, asking Him to help you let go of it.
The course of human life affects three important factors.
The first factor is providence of God. God specially provides for every man and draws up a special plan for his salvation, which is for every human being. Thus, he gives him personal gifts and possibilities which, if utilized, can become holy. Indeed, God provides the best, the finest, the lowest. But he does not impose sanctity on him, he gives him the gifts and possibilities and invites him to cooperate freely with Him to make this happen. The choice is of man, God absolutely respects his free will.
The second factor is the devil's intervention. The devil exploits the passions and weaknesses of man, promises him in his own way, wealth, glory, pleasure, and where he "catches" him. And because sinful nature is in passion and sin, the chances of winning it are great. He still exploits his ignorance and immaturity, traps him constantly, and because man does not know or has no experience of dealing with him, he often falls into the pitfalls he sets up.
And the third factor is human freedom. If he will accept man to work with God, cultivate the gifts of God or work in the passions and challenges of the wicked is purely in his free will.
Grandmaster says that God provides the best in your life, but the "lamp" of your life does not keep Him, but he gives it to you to keep it in your hands and He wants to help you and support you. If you do not notice, stumble and fall, then the oil from the lamp will spill and the pot will break. But for this reason God's Providence will not be responsible, but your own choices.
