Often, these words jingle
Like bells, they chime
In our ears- alarmbs, they sound
And from our lips
On days when we speak for us,
Sweetly, they pour
We have been called to obey
But do we, really?
His life, he gave
Our shame, he took
To the cross, he was nailed
On that cross, he bled
This is the manner in which he loved us
In this manner of love,
That man who arose and ascended
Have we done unto men, in his stead?
Greed
Selfishness
Pride
Lust
Multiple festering sores
Terrible sicknesses
Eating away at the very soul of our lives
The life force of the society
Manifesting through you and me
Tell a "friend", you do not have to lend
Remain in your home
While a "loved" one, on the sick bed, lay
On Sundays, adorn in fine clothings
At nights, heat up the air with prayers
In the offering basket,
offer huge amounts that would be seen and praised
-Descendants of the rich men who worshiped with the widow
Our faces turned upward to heaven
And say that we have loved
Have we?
Truly?
What manner of love is that...
That does not give its life?
Remember the commandment
"As I have loved you..."
All things shall pass away
But this, shall remain
