MISTAKEN BELIEFS TO EARN SALVATION
If we do good to our fellows, we think that we will be saved. Some of us believe that as long as we help many people, the gate in heaven is open for us, then what shall we worried about? Let us always remember that no matter how good we are on earth, there is no exception in God's law to earn eternal life in heaven. The law is fair. Further, some of us think that as long as we obey in His commandments, we will be saved. Below are the three mistaken beliefs we have to gain salvation.
3 Mistaken Beliefs:
1 Obedience of the commandments to do good. Just like what I said above, we sometimes think that there is nothing to worry to be saved. We are confident enough because we obeyed.
2 Joining religions and any other groups. Some of us move to many religions to be saved, but no, religion can't save us. However, it helps us to grow our Christian life.
3 Always present at the church. We think that as long as we never fail to make it every Sunday and in every activities, it's enough, but again, it cannot save us.
God never asked those efforts but two simple things spiritually to be saved. By recieving His Holy Spirit and believing in Him, we will be saved. Then, we will do the good things to make Him happy and to grow our relationship abundantly. God is not demanding but loving and selfless to gift us salvation which is always free. Somehow, it's easy to think that we will gain it, but there are things we need to do to be qualified.
Steps to Gain Salvation
1 Admit it to the Lord that you're a sinner for no one is a saint except our Lord. All of us humans are sinners. We are hypocrite to tell the world and to the Lord that we never commited mistakes. So, we should always remove the guilt inside and repent for refusing to do it is like cheating God and ourselves.
Rome 3:23
New Living Translation
"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard."
2 Know that the payment of sins is death.
Rome 6:23
New International Version
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
3 Accept the truth that we are powerless to make our own rule for salvation.
Ephesians 2:9
"not a result of works, eso that no one may boast."
We will never be saved to do good things. If salvation opens its gate for it, all people will brag to heaven that they're 100% clean. No one can brag salvation indeed.
4 We should be happy that God has always a way to earn salvation.
John 3:17
"New International Version
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
5 Decide an immense decision of your life not tomorrow but today in order to be saved. How to do it? In Acts 16: 22, it is said to believe in Him.

"The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods."
The second decision is accepting the Lord as said in John 1:12.
New International Version
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
Then, we will have our eternal life in heaven as an assurance of salvation.

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."
