Love & Marriage 7
Today I continue on the stages of marriage.
To just quickly recap, stage 1 was the honeymoon phase, all roses and moonshine. Stage 2 was the realization phase, whereby you get to see who this person that you married, really are. In stage 3 conflict arises again as spouses self-interest overtakes the interest of the marriage. If you missed this I will give the links at the end.
Stage 4: Cooperation. This stage is a very important stage where big decisions are made by couples. In Couples realize we are in it together, making decisions together to fulfill their life's dreams. Further their respective careers, buying a home and starting a family is all on the agenda in this phase. The most important one is to raise children. This can be a very happy and exciting stage of a marriage.
All the first experiences are very exciting, your first home, first time expecting, the first baby gets born. Parents delight in their children growing up and go through every stage of their life with them. It can be also a stage of conflict if parents don't agree on parenting styles etc. Hopefully, at this stage. the couple has learned problem-solving and communication methods to work out these issues.
My son and his life partner with little Jonathan now in this stage of their relationship.
The danger of this stage is that couples get so focused on career and the children that they neglect their relationship. This stage can last up to 20 or more years. Couples need to still focus on building their marriage. Please refer to my previous post how to ensure a happy marriage.

Great post, I missed the first once but will have to go back and read them.
We are married 7 years and so far we are both alive! Few up and downs but generally smooth sailing :D

Thank you so much for the resteem. Well done on the 7 years. You are past the worst now. I don't know why but they call it the 7 year itch, experts say lot of things can go wrong in the 7th year. (will do some research on that one) God bless.
