Romans 10:20-21

(NKJV) But Isaiah is very bold and says: "I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me."
But to Israel he says: "All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people."

Unrepentant. What exactly was Israel's trouble with accepting Jesus as Lord and the gospel of reconciliation? Maybe familiarity. They had the law read in their ears and were satisfied to limit God to their experience of Him. But even that law was not obeyed in full by them. By rejecting Christ, they rejected the God they claimed to love with all their heart.

God's hand is always stretched out. His ways are always offered and better than man's way. The key is to let the word of God point us to God heart, and not just become mere observances. May we not read the Bible daily but fail to hear the mind of God, either by willful disobedience or rationalizing human traditions above God's intent.

God's outstretched hand must not be taken for granted.
