Over 9,000 Chinese workers in Pakistan have been given bulletproof vehicles after President Xi Jinping expressed concerns about their safety.

This is an important initiative for the safety of Chinese workers in Pakistan. Under this project, all Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan will move from traditional automobiles to bulletproof cars.

China is taking safety seriously and will be protecting their citizens as they move about. They've made an agreement to use bulletproof vehicles for any outdoor movements of Chinese citizens working in CPEC projects in Pakistan.

CPEC, a $60 billion dollar project being built in China for the Arabian Sea, will strengthen ties between Pakistan and China.

According to the draft minutes of the 11th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) of the CPEC, both sides also agreed to work on strengthening the capacities of law enforcement agencies and investigators. However, safety was seen as an obstacle in carrying out their projects.

"It has been decided that bulletproof vehicles will be used for all outdoor movements of Chinese employed in projects," the draft read.

Last week, President Xi of China expressed his deep concern for the safety of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan on CPEC projects and asked for a trustworthy environment for them in his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The two leaders signed a deal to strengthen their friendship.

At the urging of China, Pakistan asked China to allow security personnel to remain in Pakistan and protect Chinese citizens there.
