Chess problem 67 / Schachaufgabe 67

Hello chess fans, at the moment I am obviously somewhat lucky with my online blitz chess games, as several very beautiful positions arose, which are excellently suited for the use in this chess column.
Also the following position, in which I could initiate a dangerous attack with white, which leads to a white advantage in all variants, belongs into this category.

What did I play and what is the critical version? Have fun puzzling! :)

Interesting problem. How about: 1. Rh3 ? with the following lines:
a) 1....g6 2. Rxh7 Kxh7 3.Qh5 Kg7 (if Kg8 then Bxg6 right away) 4.Qh6 Kg8 5.Bxg6 fxg6 6.Qxg6 Kh8 7.Rf1 with the idea Rf3 and h3. I can't see a defence against that plan. If black plays Rg8 for example he will be mated with Qh6#.
b) 1....h6 2.Bxh6 gxh6 3.Qg4 Kh8 4.Rxh6 mate. If Black does not take on h6 White can continue his (or her) attack with Bxg7, Qg4 or Qh5. White's position is so good, it should easily be won.
c) 1...f5 2.Qh5 h6 3.Bxh6 and if gxh6 then 4.Qg6 Kh8 5.Rxh6 mate.

What do you think Jakimaster? ;-)

  1. Rh3 g6
  2. Rxh7 Kxh7
  3. Qh5+ Kg8
  4. Bxg6 fxg6
  5. Qxg6+ Kh8
  6. Rf1 Ne5
    How to win now?

7.Bf6 should be good enough. After the exchange on f6 (with check) White can take the knight on e5 with fxe5. The black bishop on d6 can't remove then as White would continue his attack with Rf3.

That's at least enough to declare you as winner of this round. Later today I will publish a detailed solution including diagrams. Congrats, @iceblue!

Bxh7?! Kxh7
Rh3+ Kg6 (Rg8 Qh5 mate soon after)
Qh5 Kf5
g4#

And if 1... Kh8 2. Rh3 anyway

  1. Bxh7+ Kxh7
  2. Rh3+ Kg8
  3. Qh5 f6
    Can white win now?

How about:

  1. Bxh7+ Kxh7
  2. Rh3+ Kg8
  3. Bh6 Kf6 (Black might be inclined to take the white bishop with the black pawn, but that would result in checkmate if Qg4)

At this point white had a great position, but tons can happen from here so I'm not sure if this is the solution. Ah well, I'll leave it to a greater mind to figure out.

  1. Bxh7+ Kxh7
  2. Rh3+ Kg8
  3. Bh6 f5
    Can white win now?

Having fun puzzling indeed, always interesting when you test all of us..
