Computer-Generated Chess Problem 04052

in #chess3 years ago

Take a look at this 'KQRBNP vs kqbn' mate in three chess problem generated by Chesthetica using the fairly new computational creativity approach known as the DSNS (Digital Synaptic Neural Substrate). Incidentally, this is also a 'mutual mate' problem (more generally known as a 'duplex'). That means if Black were to play, it is also a forced mate in the same number of moves. They are quite rare in direct mates. The solvability estimate applies only to White's solution. Read more about mutual mates here. Chesthetica is able to generate three-movers, four-moves, five-movers and study-like constructs and also compose problems using specific pieces types fed into it (such as using only a queen vs. rook and knight). Read more about it on ChessBase.

These chess puzzles are published in order based on the composition date and time stamp above. Due to the sheer volume of compositions generated, the latest ones may therefore only be published later on. Chesthetica composes only unique or new constructs. If you have seen it before, cite the source and comment below because it is purely coincidental. Try to solve this as quickly as you can. If you like it, please share with others. Take some time to study the analysis and you might appreciate the puzzle a little more.
