Today was victory day of Bangladesh
From what I understand that is kind of like the United States Independence Day. And though the kids last day before break was on the 13th the school invited them back today for activities at the school in celebration. @azizbd had planned on having them watch a couple of videos but because a shipment arrived from @girlbeforemirror with gifts for the kids he decided to surprise the kids with the gifts today.
The Steemit Community has really made a difference in the lives of these children.
From gifts that have been sent to them from steemians to direct donations to a simple upvote and resteems. When ever any of these things are done, it is making a difference in the lives of these children.

The kids are currently on break, but though they are out of school doesn't mean fund raising for the program should stop. Currently the kids are in a small school with very little space to work in, as you can see from the photos. I have big dreams for the school. I know @azizbd shares some of them. One of the things we both desire for the school is for them to have a bigger location with garden space for the school. Something that can be purchased eventually.
I love the fruit program but thinking long term and self sufficiency a garden to produce food that can feed the children and also education about food production. I know that @azizbd has even bigger dreams that just that, but the first and foremost concern for me is that we raise enough money to give these kids something to eat daily while the are at school.
So While the kids are on break lets raise a cushion fund.

Many of us have more than we need maybe not all that we want but way more than we need, these kids really don't have much at all. Most of the the children that live in the slums don't have the opportunity to get an education, many have to work to provide food for their families, and at times they even get paid in things like a bag of onions. These kids should have a chance at an education.

Education is the fundamental right of every child according to UN Charter. Children living in many developing and poor countries are denied these rights because of one or other social problems. Steemit Community is doing a Saintly job for them Children. Thanks @technosgirl and @azizbd for helping these underprivileged children. Who knows maybe someday one of them grows to become a statesman, I hope every body does. Because Success Often comes from HUMBLE Origins.
Sadly the UN Charter is a piece of paper and not all children are getting the education that is their fundamental right. Government is not going to solve this problem but we the people of the world can.
You are absolutely right. Govts of the world are just running in the arms race and never bothered about the unprivileged children education. Thus the responsibility is on our shoulder to make the change in the lives of these kids, be it little.

I am so happy to see the things that were in my own living room a couple of weeks ago now in the hands of these beautiful children.
I have messaged @azizbd about sending a shipment in the future. I want to be able to make a bigger impact on the lives of the people in the slums.
It would make more sense economically to ship the items, I think it would only take about a month, but I need to do more research. I know storage at his end is an issue. I would love to know what items could be of use for the coming school year and for the people in the slums.
I had a friend who would crowd fund and send an entire shipping container to Sierra Leone. She supported an entire village by collecting from friends and colleagues in Australia. I could do this if it is something they might want.

Education is very important to educate the next generation, and behind it all fund raising for learning activities is very important, hopefully many people will follow this noble footsteps. @tecnosgirl
