UPVOTE for Charity! FINAL ROUND
That's right. I'm bringing this to a close. It hardly seems worth it to run this charity drive week after week and only bring in a few cents each time around.
Here's what I'm going to do: Once this final round is over, I'll cash out all of the proceeds and donate from my own funds whatever amount it takes to bring it up to 100 SBD.
All proceeds from this post will go to support Ask Me Why I'm Here (AMWIH), a charity founded by my friend Jon Van Goch.
What is Ask Me Why I'm Here?
As stated on the group's Facebook page, they are a social movement based on altruism. The focus of the charity is to connect people who want to make a positive difference, while actually making a measurable difference by providing basic necessities and emotional support for those in need. There are no questions, no forms to fill out, no judgement, just love.
How it Works
Once this is all over, I will trade my SBD for Bitcoin on Poloniex and then sell the BTC for Canadian Dollars which will then be transferred to AMWIH. If anyone is concerned that I will cut and run with the profits, remember that all financial information on Steemit is public. If you have any concerns, I would encourage you to stay vigilant, watch my account and publicly shame me if I behave dishonestly. After the goal has been reached and my charity drive is over, I will make a follow-up post to prove that all funds have been transferred to the right place.
Financial Report
The first number is the total earnings of the post, and the second number is the author's earning after the curation rewards have been subtracted.

- WEEK 3 - 16 cents (10 cents)
- Bonus article earnings - 73 cents (66 cents)
- WEEK 4 - $2.03 ($1.79)
- WEEK 5 - 27 cents (22 cents)
- TOTAL - $25.26

Maybe efforts like this are too early. I have tried to remember to log on Sundays and vote (Sunday is my technology free day). I think it is a righteous cause and wish I had the steem to help you out more than I have. Hang in there Seth.
I doubt I'll retire from charity posts entirely. But as of right now, I can (and will) donate more from my own personal Steem earnings than I could make in a year with this charity drive at the rate I seem to be earning.
Maybe I'll do more charity posts if/when I have a bigger following.
When you are ready to try again I hope I have earned enough followers to help. Your cause is righteous but you may be right, maybe you need thousands of followers to pull this off.
Or you persevere. Your idea has the potential to help a lot of people.
