My Top 10 Star Wars Characters
NOTE: These are my personal favorite characters from the movie. In no way are they definitive to the subject. Comment your favorite Star Wars characters below.
10| Darth Maul
Although Darth Maul almost had no dialouge whatsoever, besides a a few lines, there's no denying that he has definitely been one of the most bad ass villains in the Star Wars universe. While the movie doesn't give you much about him and kills him off rather quickly, you can watch an animated movie that tells you much much more about this villain. I still need to watch it myself! But believe I will.
9| Qui-Gon Jinn
There's no denying that Qui-Gon was a very powerful Jedi. I mean, he taught Obi-Wan everything he knows. Although his appearance in the movies is very short lived, you can definitely read more about Qui-Gon and his adventures with Obi-Wan in the novel series titled "Jedi Apprentice". I plan on reading every book in the series, for sure.
8| R2D2
R2 is undeniably a fan favorite for sure. He may not look like much, but R2D2 has saved damn near everyone's ass on more than a few occasions. He's a droid you definitely want by your side. It's almost as if he has his own little personality. Even when him and C3PO talk to each other, you can tell from 3PO's reactions that R2 can be a smart ass at times. Which is awesome. Because he's a fuckin' robot. And R2 is one of those characters that has been in every single Star Wars movie to date, even Rogue One, for like 5 seconds.
7| General Grievous
The reason I put this guy on my list is because he's a fuckin' beast. The leader of the droid army as well as a very skilled lightsaber duelist. One thing that you must be prepared for is the fact that this guy has 4 arms and enough lightsabers to equip each hand. While you've got your one lightsaber, Grievous is swinging 4 lightsabers at you simultaneously. Definitely an intimidating opponent, without a doubt. Every time he kills a Jedi he takes their lightsaber as a trophy, which is why he has so many lightsabers and why they
are a variety of different colors.
6| Mace Windu
Mace Windu is legendary to me. He killed Jango Fett! Without even trying! He seems extremely focused and very well rounded in the ways of the force. His word holds much weight, due to his spot on the Jedi Council. In my opinion, I feel like Mace Windu is one of the greatest Jedi to ever live. And, part of me feels like he didn't die when he was thrown from that building by Anakin. But who knows.
5| Luke Skywalker
There's no way you can make a list like this and not have Luke Skywalker on it. Luke was one of the first iconic characters from the beginning of the series. At first he seems like a punk kid, but through plenty of training from 2 of the greatest jedi to ever live, Obi-Wan and Yoda, he became just as powerful as his father before him. On top of that, he became a jedi when the rest of the universe thought that the jedi were exist. He's the last of a dying breed. Legendary.
4| Han Solo
Han is just one of those bad ass characters who pretty much does his own thing. Excellent pilot as well as a marksman with his blaster pistol. Not only that but he has one of the most memorable side kicks in history, Chewbacca. I don't know how Han can understand Chewie but whenever you get to see the two react it's almost comedic. I'm definitely looking forward to the film being made about Solo, I just hope Hollywood doesn't ruin it.
3| Obi-Wan Kenobi
I found it pretty awesome to see the progression of this character from the first episode all the way to the last. If you watch Star Wars from episode 1 to episode 6, you first see Obi-Wan as a padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn. Young and still looking to his master for answers but deadly with a lightsaber. He's defeated the likes of Darth Maul and General Grievous and was the master to Anakin Skywalker, who we all know to be Darth Vader, of course. The life of Obi-Wan always seemed to be an interesting one to me and can definitely be read about in many different Star Wars novels out there. There's much more to Obi-Wan than what you see on the big screen.
2| Darth Vader
Now, we all know Darth Vader's true identity is Anakin Skywalker, and if you don't, then why are you reading this? I didn't like Anakin too much. Yes, he was supposedly the chosen one, said to be the one to bring balance to the force but I thought he was a cry baby and a punk ass kid. Never listened to his masters and acted upon his anger more than any jedi should ever do. But, from that evolved one of the most bad ass and feared villains ever to be created. Darth Vader is NO ONE to fuck with. His strength and skill are enough to mow down armies of rebels, almost instantly. He's ruthless, and will kill anyone that gets in his way. No matter if you're apart of the rebel alliance or the republic. He damn near single handedly was responsible for the genocide of a large amount of Jedi. Do not fuck with lord Vader.
1| Yoda
Yoda is the fuckin' man. I've read somewhere that he is almost 900 years old, which is incredibly fucking insane. But, makes a lot of sense. In my opinion, Yoda is the most powerful and most wise Jedi to ever have lived. All of those years under his belt definitely had a lot to do with this. So much time spent on giving himself to the ways of the force, it's only right that he become almost flawless in his profession. I think Yoda could tell that Anakin would become the villain he came to be, which is one of the reasons why he denied any kind of training to the boy. And while Yoda may not seem like much, never underestimate him in a lightsaber battle, because you will definitely have a hard time keeping up with this guy.
