What’s Your Favorite Posting Platform for Steemit (busy, dTube, eSteem, etc)?

May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Twenty Five:

I have used other posting platforms relatively early in my Steemit journey. These include the infamous @dmania and the more recent @musing. Overall, each serves different purpose. My personal favorite has been @busy.org and it is my default go-to for posting new blog posts and voting.

I chose to use the Busy platform because the default Steemit simply does not do it for me. Steemit doesn't even allow you to decline payout any more! If I want to share something from off the chain without risking claims of plagiarism, declining payout is an obvious feature for me to use.

From a social standpoint, Busy is also how I access the VP slider without actually having 500SP attached to my name. You might ask, why do you care if you don't have that much SP? It does matter to me because I am building a voting habit. I plan on staying around for the long term.

When it comes to commenting, I do not use Busy, especially after I read about a post on how Busy can prevent curation rewards from comments. Here's the link for the curious souls:

https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@flugschwein/steemit-condenser-display-if-curation-rewards-are-disabled-on-a-post-comment.

This is the only instance where I switch back to the default Steemit to post my comments. Good thing that is not an issue at all since many netizens tend to have multiple tabs open anyways.

One of the other features I like about Busy is the Activity tab. I am not talking about personal activities since I have @GINAbot who serves that purpose. I am referring to looking up what the people I'm following are up to from time to time. This particular feature has also assisted me in my work in some of the other organizations I have involved myself in such as @steemflagrewards, etc.

Other features I enjoy are the Bookmarks and Drafts. They allow me to consolidate my Steemit-related activities versus having them spread out across many different applications. I highly encourage people to try out different posting platforms to find out what works for them.

Of course, I would be lying if I said I am unaware or did not like the random upvote from the @busy.org team from time to time. The incentive is real.

What is your favorite posting platform on Steemit? Perhaps you have several? Maybe we should all spend some time browsing on https://steemprojects.com/ to find cool new dapps to enhance our experience?

Let me know in the comments and be sure to check out what other Steemians have to say in their #Challenge30Days posts.

You can decline payment on steemit still but it is a hassle.image.png

First you have to click on settings then scroll down to the bottom and you will see the options for a Comment and a post.
hope this helps you.

Omg! You are right!

However, it seems like a pain in the butt to switch between settings between each post...

Its weird that not only did they seem to hide it, but also they made it more difficult to decline rewards or powerup 100 %. Typical Steemit Inc stuff. Hey they also now added a signature so all comments/post can be 100 % more spammy. Not good!

Edit: my son told me the signature is only on steemplus add-on by @stoodkev

Need to remind people to leave STINC behind in the next hard fork. lol

Busy is the better user experience, I believe. They've taken more user input over the time I've been here than I've ever seen the Steemit devs do. And, as you've noted and then discovered here in the comments, they like to move or remove things that tend to leave us scratching our heads. Why did they do that?

The only reason why I use Steemit over busy is because when I'm creating a post, I can actually scroll down through the preview and see it all while still having the text box available. With busy, when I scroll down, the text box goes up and so I'm bouncing back and forth to make edits.

If that were ever to change, then I would probably work in busy because it's got so much more to offer. It's too bad that having the competition has not moved Steemit to improve it's interface much at all.

With busy, when I scroll down, the text box goes up and so I'm bouncing back and forth to make edits.

I totally understand the cumbersome nature, especially with bigger posts. There are times when I actually type it up in Steemit and copy/paste over to Busy just so I can justify the Busy tag. lol

Maybe what I need to do is head over and give them feedbacks.

Certainly not a bad idea, and they've proven in the past they're amenable to user input. I would imagine it would be a relatively easy thing to implement, too.

I'm looking forward to seeing how sugarsteem by theuxyeti turns out. He's been working on it for a few months now and maybe we'll actually have a beta version of it sometime during the summer.

There's also the desktop version of the eSteem app that I haven't tried yet, but there were some users reporting app crashes, so I'll probably hold off until those kinds of issues are resolved.

Oh? I better keep @sugarsteem on my radar then. Thanks for letting me know.
