Sunday visit to Schloss Neuschwanstein - DAY 26 of 30 day writing challenge

You might have heard that there is a castle which inspired Walt Disney for his Beauty and the Beast Palace, which was long time on the logo. This castle exists, it lies in Bavaria and is called Neuschwanstein Castle.

It was built by Ludwig II of Bavaria, the king who was called the Fairy Tale King, Swan King or Mad King due to his eccentric taste and weird projects he had undergone for the period of time he lived. One was building this isolated castle at border of the Alps.

So having a sunny day, we decided to spend it in fresh air. I’ve seen the castle only in winter and this was a good opportunity to see it under the summer sun.

We arrived kind of late. The previous shoot was done from the Marienbrücke, one of the best viewpoints of the castle. The bridge was overcrowded by the rush of tourists.

After doing the required selfies with the castle we moved on to some different sceneries like this one:

The castles front is under maintenance work, so I will give you a picture of the back of it.

Ok, this was the castle for today. We did not enter it, as we have been inside a couple of times and the cue was huge. Next stop was down by the lake where some swans with their youngsters and some wild ducks enjoyed the perfect weather.

The day could not be ended without another beer. As living in Bavaria, you know you hit a very high traffic touristic place which does not focus on the beer, by the size of the beer. Normally Bavarian Beer is served under a 1l glass. Here we managed to get a 0.4l and 0.25l. So cheers, and see you tomorrow ;)
