    Sort:

    The quote:

Bombay Sapphire and Gogol should never be mixed

is from Dan Brown's Inferno, so one might think that the number series:

    1:5,2:1,3:3,4:7,5:8,7:1

is like chapters and letters in the chapter in that book. But it's not. EIVNLL (or small caps) doesn't decipher the hint #2.

in the phrase containing that quote, another book is referenced: Nikolai Gogol's Dead Souls. But since chapter 6 is omitted from the numbering in the hint, is it a coincidence that the quote above in Dan Brown's Inferno is exactly in chapter 6?

Can it be the words and not the letters?

    likeI’MOFFiftheLANGDON

    That doesn't work either....

Should we use the original book language in spanish?

Also, as others figured it out too in the chat channel, '194348662X' in hint no 2 is the ISBN number for the book: Secrets of inferno

Last time the password at https://encipher.it contained spaces. I also tried some variations, but no luck ...

    The correct password contains spaces

So far I've gotten to this and I'm stuck. The password for the encrypted sequence:

    EnCt2c7c09c257615912a1be396241d6b1da822853385c7c09c257615912a1be396240XwLbbvDuAJ d3yZyBlgXDZarrDUSOf8KDg7lgPlfdjTYqXb33QyJqz8J321xsJiT7Z3uuqModkgHIwEmS

should be in Secrets of Inferno, this specific edition with ISBN-10: 194348662X, which is this one:

    This:

    1:5,2:1,3:3,4:7,5:8,7:1

is the secret to finding the password there, that should contain spaces.

But there are a few things that don't ad up:

    1. Why miss the 6, in the sequence (Hint #1 quote is in chapter 6 in DB's Inferno)
    2. Why even mention DB's inferno when we have the specific ISBN number for the other book...
    3. This blog has both the phrase and the Secrets of inferno theme..so is the sequence actually in there? https://secretsofinferno.wordpress.com/2013/10/28/bombay-sapphire-and-gogol-should-never-be-mixeda-strange-sentence-or-a-series-of-clues/
    4. Why use ISBN-10 when the new format is ISBN-13? Converters are out there so maybe making it a little more cryptic?
