The Haier Big Hoot 2018

The Haier Big Hoot is a public art trail featuring 47 giant Owl sculptures (1.65m tall).

From Saturday 03 March, the Owls will be displayed for nine weeks in public spaces, parks, malls and libraries across Auckland City.

Each Owl has been turned into a bespoke piece of art by a Kiwi or international artist, with works by John Unasa, Dick Frizzell, Jeff Thompson, Flox, Weilun Ha, Peata Larkin, Grace Wright, Jessica Pearless and more.

At the end of the trail the Owls will be auctioned to fundraise for Child Cancer Foundation.

Keep an eye out for 60 smaller Owlets on the trail (90cm tall) – many decorated by students from Auckland schools.

Find them all using the trail map within the Big Hoot 2018 app – available to download from the i-Phone or Android app store from Thursday 01 March.
