When the Holy Spirit begins to work in the heart of the sinner that sinner becomes assured that he is under the wrath and curse of God. Once born again that sinner comes to be assured that he now enjoys and loves the FAVOUR OF GOD. 
You will even see that the shadow of a man would leave that man but the light of God will never lose his sight.
