Looking Back/Look Forward #ccc 22.2 by @wakeupkitty
A time to look back is a part of our tomorrow. There's no need to do it most especially when it was all about pain. But for me, I would like to recall it no matter what, the more when it gave a lesson to each and every one of us.
It has been a 2 year ago that I underwent surgery of my right eye. There was a tiny red ball inside my eye. It happened the year 2017, but I started complaining about it last quarter of 2016. The doctor said it will be cured by the eye drops given once a day. Yes, it was gone but a couple of months, it came again. I was so worried but I kept on believing that it was just a mild case.
So I tried going to another two private doctors. I was really scared looking my eye on that kind of situation. My grandmother became blind for 9 years before she died. My mother became blind because of her diabetes. It kept on haunting me.
Suddenty, the three young doctors in a certain private clinic, told me that it will be cancerous. So I need immediate surgery and biopsy. The problem was they need a lot of money for payment.
Anyway, the first doctor in a public hospital was an Egyptian who worked as an eye surgeon for 35 years. He cared for me since the first day of my check-up.
The second doctor in a private clinic also told me to give it by eye drops for two weeks. If it will come again, it should be operated.
So I returned to the public doctor name Mustafa Muhammad. I told him what the young doctors told me. I cried for help because I have no 10k Saudi Riyals. Then he comforted me not to be worry because he will make the surgery. He will not let the young doctor in the private hospital practice my eyes because it was so very sensitive and dangerous. He added that it was already decided that when I have my follow up check-up, he would tell me the schedule and process what I should do before the operation day.
I was so glad that he offered me his service for free. I thank the Lord God after I passed my laboratory test, the surgery went on. It was November 13, 2017.
I was alone and my heart beats so fast. I saw the utensil he used to cut it out. My left eye was covered but my right eye saw everything how he inserted the thin syringe, I saw everything but I didn't feel the pain. But for the last procedure, I could not imagine how terribly happened. It was so much pain when the surgeon used laser killing the root and tiny nerve. The doctor comforted me and he said that I must be strong for myself. As if I saw two hands of God wrapping gently my face, then I heard someone saying not to cry. He successfully removed the ball like meat in my eye.
What something to look forward to?
Taking care of my eyes is a must. I should not abuse my eyes because it is so very valuable part of our body. What will be my life without a vision? Losing our sight will make no sense to our life. So I double my effort in taking care not only for my eyes but my entire and all part of my body.
