Nine cat lives (part 4) the reluctant cat

in #caturday7 years ago

Considering Ger's independent, friendly character and her recently sacrifice to us of taking her away from the forest, in retrospect it was a rather stupid idea, but now ... we wanted more 'children'.
Everyone knows that it never stays with 1 single one, because a new child is fun for the other child. Because of course you never do something like that for your own fun. Neuuuoooo never. And beside that; everybody knows that only children become too pampered, spoiled and too self-centred. I am one myself, so I know.
And so, on a Saturday morning, we went to the SPCA and picked out the most pitiful and most anxious cat. We would bring him into psychological harmony.

Ado was a big black beauty with an interesting small rectangle white mustache.
Immediately after we arrived home, he hid under the couch and refused to come out. He did not touch the food we shoved under the couch, and all our attempts to please him were answered with jet black angry eyes, a high back and ears turned back.
The trajectory of litter training got postponed, because without eating he did not need to go to the litter box either.
I tried every advice from the vet and the SPCA, but nothing contributed to the tiniest indication of 'bonding'.
After 1 week, I started to become scruffy. "Okay! Well! G'bye! Then die under that lounge if you want so! "

Ado didn't move half an inch in the next week and we began to worry that he might just die indeed. The fun for all of us was gone and I have to admit we decided to 'exchange' him. Perhaps that was impatient after only 2 weeks, but maybe he was the one who had very different expectations about the future. That was possible too, isn't it? Maybe he was the one that didn't like our home, our other cat and us?
Let's be honest ... Sometimes we too experience this with certain people? A wrong combination of energy? Bad vibes?
Or rather he would prefer humans who own a garden?

And that is why Ado is our only cat I never have photographed. Instead, I show you this small oil painting I once made for a charity.

A very nice oil painting!
I always want to learn to paint! I am no good at drawing either.

Cats respond better to women than to men, probably due to the fact that women's voices have a higher pitch.
