He was certainly a beautiful cat... and you gave him a long and loving life; thank you for taking such good care of him! Sadly, too many people think of their cats as "just an animal."

We've lost a couple to kidney disease; Kramer was quite old and shut down very suddenly... it was just too late for any effective intervention. Orange was a vibrant 4-year old cat, however... he was a bit sluggish one morning; by 8pm we rushed him to the 24-hour vet and by midnight he had died from "acute kidney failure" in spite of aggressive treatment. we think he got into "something," but we could never figure out WHAT as the house is quite extensively "cat safe."

Anyway, a lovely tribute to Earnest!
