LAVA Needs Travelin' Documents

We took LAVA to the Vet to update his shots, and to document them for his trip to Canada to his new Furr-ever home. We wanted so badly to keep him here with us. But we knew with his “Strong Personality” it would be a disaster for all. I could not take him out with Sammi Jo & I on the road. LAVA needed to be with a family that would dedicate themselves to him. To put his well being first and foremost.

LAVA Goin' 2 the Vets

Kat G. & Her friend Mark of Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA were the first to offer LAVA a good quality furr-ever home. She & Mark stepped up and offered to help from day one of the LAVA S.O.S. Message.

Upon arrival @ the vets office. The first thing they do these days is to wand them checking for ”The Chip.”

LAVA is Stolen…!!

That is what came up when the chip info was retrieved. LAVA’S prev. owner had lost him at one time. And never went back and updated the info. We showed the Vet our info about LAVA. The Social Media Postings, & the E-Mails from his Ex-Owner. The Vet lady was really cool about it. Since the lost / stolen report was several years old, and our story checked out. She did not report us to the police as is the usual procedure. We had to reschedule his appointment, and get his Ex-Owner to fix the problem. A week later LAVA got his shots updated and travel papers for customs at the border crossing.

The very next week We found a load going to Fargo ND. And LAVA was off to be with his new owners. I arrived at the exchange point a day early. It was only then that I realized how much I had become attached to this cat. It had only been 2 weeks. But LAVA had a way about him. He was a King Cat and He knew it. I feared for Him, not knowing what his future would be, I came very close to backing out on the meeting with Kat & Mark. I took LAVA for a walkabout over behind the truck stop building. These Photos are the last few I took of him.

The last few hours in the truck, He came over beside me. For the first time since I met him, He lay beside me and He purred up a storm. He could feel my sadness and see the tears in my eyes.
Kat & Mark drove down to meet us at the Petro truck stop that evening. We had a bite to eat, talked about life, & our mutual love for cats. These 2 are great cat people. They will forever have my love and respect. They gave a ”Bad Attitude Boss Cat” His well deserved furr-ever home. Loved him unconditionally till his last dying breath. R.I.P.
