How often have you looked at your cat and thought, maybe my cat actually thinks i'm a cat too, and that my purpose is to serve the cat's interest? Many people report that their cat's act as if they hold their human owners in comtempt. Acting sweet and sticky until you feed them, after which, they go back to their own ways of solitary exclusion. With all this volatile behaviour, it's easy to feel like cat's can be quite condescending, but that would be ok if they loved us right?

Well, it turns out that studies have been made to test whether cat's will choose their food and toys over their owners and the results will surprise you!

A sample of cat's were given several stimuli and their responses were observed and recorded. They had a choice between interacting with food, toys, an interesting smell, and finally, human interaction.

As expected, a whopping 37% of cat's attended to their food and ignored everything else. 11% played with toys, and 2% of the cats were most curious about the interesting smell.

What was surprising, was that 50% of the cats wanted the human interaction, so much as to ignore all of the other stimuli, giving their attention fully to the human.

We were wrong all along. Cats are able to show appreciation of the kindness of their owners after-all, they're not the selfish, arrogant, loopy food crazed little monsters we thought they were locked into being.. or are they?
