#Eleanor - MuscleCarThursday - 800hp 1967 SHELBY GT500 [all original SLR HD photos]
A road rage legend and the definition of 60s American Muscle courtesy of Carroll Shelby - may he rest in peace.
Does this car need introduction? Carroll Shelby says no! This is a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 big-block NOS fired super muscle car with a special bodykit which was created for the movie 'Gone in 60 Seconds' starring Nicolas Cage and this car which was referred to as 'Eleanor'.
It made the already immortal Shelby Super Snake as it was sometimes called in real life even more legendary. Check out the metallic flakes in the paint in the shot above - pure class quality.
Special bodykit parts include airscoop:
Fuel filler cap:
Sidepipe exhaust with custom rocker panel:
Custom 17" wheels:
Special rear skirt with integrated reverse lights:
Special tiny mirrors:
The hood is actually 'stock' Shelby:
Custom front fascia including low and high beam headlights, turn signals, LED daytime running and fog lights:
Add to that some custom suspension, drivetrain, transmission, NOS and exhaust setup and you got yourself a $250k monster Shelby Mustang:
Thank you for reading and watching dear Steemians and petrol and gear heads :).
A very nice contribution, which I take with for "My Steemit Favorites Part 25.

Ah such a powerful and lovely machine! Nothing quite like the combined rumble and feel of power when you press the accelerator in a muscle car! My first Mustang was a 1985 5-speed red GT, last of the carbuerated Mustangs. Prior to that I had a junky little econobox. What a change! 300lbs of torque at the rear wheels took some getting used to. I'm surprised I survived. My next Mustang was a bit more tame (fat/heavy); a 1996 5-speed white GT convertible. Still a fun car. I removed the rear spoiler in favor of a more elegant look. I'll miss them both. Thanks again, for the reminder.
Glad to have brought back some memories with this post!
