Ford Mustang 1965-6
A few days ago I posted a photo and some comments about the Ford Mustang Mach 1 - 1970, which is a rare and interesting Mustang.
In this occasion I show a photo of one of the first Mustangs, the model of 1965-6. The Mustang was lunched in 1964 and the first generation goes up to 1973. Some people consider the model of 1971-1973 does not belong to the first generation, since it has important differences with the previous models. However the second generation started in 1974, when fuel efficiency was introduced in the engines, after the oil crisis.
The cars of this generation have so many variations, that make these models quite interesting and appealing to the collectors. Ford has produced so far six generations.
The first Mustang model was designed based on the family car the Falcon.
One of the special features of Mustangs of all generations, is they are the only model produced by Ford, which do not show the brand name "FORD" on the car. However there is an exception, in the first years of production (1964-67); the car on the picture shows the name "FORD" on the hood. From 1968 and onwards the car only shows the characteristic logo of the mustang horse and the letters showing the word "FORD" were removed.
Anyone who likes these cars, remembers the movie Bullitt with Steve McQueen. The model used in the movie is a 1968 GT Fastback. I leave here the scene of the famous car chase of this movie, the other car of the chase is 1968 Dodge Charger.

Mustangs are nice cars. I've only had one, but I almost had a 71 mach 1 a few years back, but it fell through.

I work on these cars everyday, I've grown to dislike them! But I still like hepling other peoples dreams come true with them.
