1955 Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America
Next saturday (May 12th), this superb dark blue Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America will heading to auction through RM Sotheby's for about €800,000. With summer coming, I can see myself behind the wheel of this car to go to the beach :-)...
History of the Lancia Aurelia
Named after the ancient Roman road between Rome and Pisa (Via Aurelia), the Lancia Aurelia was produced between 1950 and 1958 in different versions 4 doors, 2 doors GT (B20), 2 doors spider convertible (B24), body-customized by different coachbuilders, on this model, by Pinin Farina. It's the Lancia’s most revered post-war sporting model, at each auction the price are going north.
The B24 Spider America was presented during the 1955 Brussels Motor Show. Lancia produced only 240 examples with 181 B24S (S standing for sinistra, Italian for left) for left-hand drive. The addition of America was for the US market.

Technical Specification
At the Lancia Aurelia presentation during the 1950 Turin Motor Show, there are many advanded mechanical features as front and rear independent suspension, inboard rear brakes and especially the 1.8-litre V6 engine, designed by Francesco de Virgilio, Italian engineer, the first series-production car ever to have a V6 engine.
Finished in Grigio over Black leather, this model is gorgeous... non ?
