During its February's auction sale Les Grandes Marques at Paris (Grand Palais), Bonhams will auction this splendid 1949 Delahaye 135MS Coupe with coachwork by Carrosserie Ghia-Aigle. For about € 300,000, you can have this wheel spats :-)

History of the Delahaye 135

The Delahaye 135 was first presented in 1935, production continued until 1954. The 135MS is the sportier version, seen in competition mostly during the Alpine Rally hence its nickname Coupe des Alpes.

Delahaye, French automative company founded in 1894 by Émile Delahaye, didn't produce coachwork, all its chassis were bodied by other companies. In this case, the coachwork was designed by Carrosserie Ghia-Aigle, the Swiss outpost of the Italian design and manufacturing company.

Specification

With its triple-carburettor 3,557 cc straight 6 engine, this Delahaye 135MS Coupe produces between 120 and 145 hp. The gearbox is the Cotal-Maag electromagnetic type featuring four forward and four reverse gears.

It was professionally restored in 90's, bodywork and interior.
I like this coachwork by Ghia-Aigle with the wheel spats that can be lifted by pulling a lever in order to change more easily the tyre. Great detail...
