Strain Journal #1 (Diesel x Wreck)

Today I will be starting a new collection of posts documenting my discovery of new cannabis strains. I plan to make a post of this series every time I find a new strain I enjoy. I would like to first state that I currently reside in Seattle, WA and am over the age of 21 which means I can enjoy my herb legally and even get it straight from the store! Living in a legalized state is a blessing and a curse, but we will go over that in another post I plan to make in the future.

This post is going to be talking about a strain I recently picked up and am enjoying as we speak. Diesel x Wreck is a Sativa cross between the two popular strains Sour Diesel and Trainwreck. Sour Diesel is one of my all time favorite crops, I had to pick some of this up.

I took a couple pictures with flash and without to give you a full idea of the look. Apologize for the quality, as the only camera I have is the one built into my Google Pixel. It's still HD quality so it should be good enough to give you a quality first-hand perspective.

For future reference, I will be rating strains on 5 different qualities.

Price 4/5

I picked up a 1/8th Oz of this for $35, which for that amount with tax added on already is a pretty decent price. No complaints there!

I hope you all can see the awesome nuances in this particular harvest, the pistils on these buds are a vibrant bright orange, and I'm not sure if they changed up the light cycles midway through the budding phase; I believe so because although they are very bright green, there is an awesome purplish tint in some areas. Even the packaging was colorful yet simplistic!

Potency 3/5

The THC content in this crop is tested at 26% along with a .8% CBD content. I've had higher, but nothing to complain about.

Taste 4/5

Tasted very earthy at first, then hit me with a twist of citrus! Very good terpenes because it sits on my tongue awhile. The smoke was very smooth and I didn't even feel it hitting my lungs.

Body Effects 5/5

It actually takes on one of its counterparts very well on the Trainwreck side of things. I remember the first time I smoked Trainwreck was one of my first times smoking in general. I smoked and felt nothing for 15 minutes then without even realizing couldn't function at all. Seven years later this strain replicated that feeling almost perfectly which surprised me, being a veteran now. I smoked the first bowl of this while playing a game of League of Legends and misjudged the effects. After 15 minutes found myself and my team surrendering the game, let's just say I did not play well...

Very creeping feeling in the back of your head.

The first feeling you notice is a strange tingle feeling around the forehead area and then a strong euphoric head high, borderline psychedelic.
