RE: The Cannabis Conundrum - Breaking Laws To Grow Legally

in #cannabis7 years ago

This just proves the insanity of making a plant illegal in the first place. Politicians now see the massive potential for profit, so they have had their minds magically changed for the better.

I'm in Virginia. The laws here are absolutely absurd. You can get a life sentence for a PLANT! It is beyond stupid and hard to believe. The police in my area though, for the most part, completely ignore pot.

They shouldn't have to ignore it though. It shouldn't be illegal in the first place!

Precisely my thoughts, @finnian, "insanity". It creates a burden that I call "Selective Policing". Life in jail for a plant. A plant!

In Maryland, I know police from several counties, state troopers, and detectives - many of them 'actively choose' to ignore cannabis, unless it is accompanied by an additional (criminal) element. Maryland cites cannabis possession similar to a speeding ticket - Pay a $100 fine and there is no court or jail. It's a misdemeanor whether you have 1 gram or 49.9 pounds, if found to be for individual use and not resale. That is HUGE spectrum..lol

Many officers that I have chat with on this subject say that they prefer to not even write citations unless it is "necessary". This is selective policing. Why have a law that is "selectively" enforced? If some police do not see a reason to enforce a law, doesn't that mean the law is nothing more than a theory? It's insane.

No victim, no crime. ;-)

This could be a future lawmaker

I love how the light turned on for a second. Spark of genius? I think not.

Haha best part! Hit so hard the oven had a thought
