First Cannabis Museum Opens In South America

in #cannabis7 years ago (edited)

The very first cannabis museum in South America has been inaugurated by Uruguay.

It has been established in order to share information about the history of the cannabis plant and it will try to educate the audience on the variety of uses for the plant. It's known as the Cannabis Museum of Montevideo (MCM) and it's located in Palermo district in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Cannabis became legalized for sale and production several years ago in Uruguay, though people are still unable to buy legally because of slow changes to regulations. We see this with the case where many areas move toward legalization, that it takes many years for people to actually be able to make a peaceful exchange without the threat of violence in-return for having made that exchange and choosing to put cannabis into their body etc. It takes a long time in order to make the necessary changes as far as enforcement of the law and implementation of the changes on the local/street level.

The President of Uruguay, Tabare Vazquez, has also said that cannabis will not be sold publicly at least until the end of this year.

Though, this museum further goes to show the support that there is for the plant in the community. And the director of the museum has said that the plant offers multiple benefits. Cannabis has been cultivated for thousands of years, and the goal is to have the museum exhibit the various benefits that can be had in: how it can be used, and what it looks like in different forms etc.

There is also the hope that the museum might help fuel cannabis-related tourism in the area.

yea. it really is a cool plant. Super easy to grow too.

It's really weird it's not being cultivated more for industrial and medicinal uses like the ones you mentioned.

ONLY missing thing in South America but very informative @doitvoluntarily - please upvote - follow more articles: Henley

@doitvoluntarily studies are being conducted now- the oil of this plant could actually cure cancer. The abuse of this plant gave it a bad name I think

Good news..
