Cannabis Market Brings Hope To Struggling Community
One small community in Ontario, known as Smiths Falls, with a population of less than 9k people, is now seeing a bright future ahead thanks to the newly formed cannabis market in the region and throughout the country.
Now that legalization of recreational cannabis has taken place in Canada, it's reported that hundreds of jobs have been created as a result.
In Smiths Falls, there are now at least 800 job positions that need to be filled and this region has been referred to as the weed capital of the country.
The area is the home location for Tweed Inc and the parent company known as Canopy Growth Corporation, they are one of the largest licensed cannabis companies in the country. It's reported that Tweed has also sought to invest in fixing up buildings around town that have fallen into disrepair and left untouched for years.
Many people in the community of Smiths Falls are reportedly looking at the legalization of recreational cannabis as a true blessing because of the money and jobs it's bringing to the area.
For a town that many sought to leave long ago, after the departure of the Hershey chocolate factory from the area and the closure of the Rideau Regional Centre, to look for more options elsewhere, they are now hoping that the cannabis market continues to bring new life into the area.
Though, legalization of cannabis in Canada hasn't entirely been the dream scenario for everyone; despite the positive story that the media has reported it to be. There are many complaints about the wasteful packaging that is being used, warnings and tickets are still being issued for those who might be operating outside of the nonsensically rigid state guidelines, and several dispensaries have been raided and closed. As the "legal market" unfolds, we see that it's much less about cannabis freedom and more about government control.
Despite the problems that still exist, with the state making criminals out of peaceful individuals over a plant, many people are pleased with the new state of affairs and the legalization that has taken place. However, there are at least some medicinal cannabis users who have questioned whether or not things are now worse for them as they are facing product shortages after legalization; as well as higher prices.
Cannabis job growth reportedly now outpaces tech job growth, with legal cannabis in some form having already been established in dozens of states and now throughout Canada as well. The cannabis market is one of the fastest growing employment sectors. In the United States, California is leading the race with more than 38k people who have been employed in this space.

Status quo = power, profit, and control.
We used to take road trips up there to the hershey factory. So awesome to see that place revitalized!
@doitvoluntarily let's hope that these measures really bring progress to the people of the town.
thank you very much dear friend for sharing this news
I wish you a prosperous week
If cannabis has so many good benefits for people, with a proper control of insurance it could have among its inhabitants
Beautiful surroundings. You know that if your life had it´s roots there, it would be unhealthy to have to leave it. Happy ending.
I agree with the medical cannabis people, based on my experience in a large city.. I now have to travel far beyond every dispensary in my area if I want high CBD with low interference otherwise.
