You believe you have a god-given right to carry guns, but not cannabis??? You don't beleive in freedom

The gun rights debate has been front and center over the last few weeks due to the exceptionally horrific Parkland shooting. The right has been on the defense against a torrent of advisories calling for everything from increased background checks, to an all out Australian-like gun ban. Gun rights advocates have been patiently explaining to the emotional left that despite how exceptionally horrific this incident was because it involved children at school, in the grand picture of gun violence, school shooting are just a blip on the radar. If it's the children you're concerned about, then there are dozens of causes killing many more children than school shootings. Drug overdose is on the rise, suicide rates are skyrocketing, and as always, auto accidents are the number one killer of our school children. The pro-gun side has also had a hell of a time trying to explain that none of the laws being proposed would have stopped the awful events that unfolded in Florida. That he already existing protection of law enforcement was the only obstacle that could have stopped this, and they failed multiple times on multiple levels, then pointed the finger at the NRA, and law-abiding gun owners.

But those who are calling for stricter gun regulation are thinking emotionally, and the pro-gun movement has been claiming to hold onto logic. They argue over and over that they have a god given right to defend themselves, and that the constitution protects this right from the government. How can you have a right to life, if you can't even defend it? That's right you can't, and I stand with the pr-gun advocates, and I refuse to hand mine over to anyone if it ever comes to that. I' drawing the line on gun regulation here. Even those who are mentally ill have the right to defend themselves.

But I have a question for those so so strongly defending their right to bear arms. How can you have the right to life, without the right to heal yourself with medicine? What right does the government to tell me what medicine I can use to heal myself? It's hard to take you seriously when you claim god-given rights, when you call for those using marijuana, medically, or recreational, to be thrown behind bars. If you have the right to defend yourselves from assailants, then I have the right to defend myself against ailments, infections, and disease.

I know a lot of the pro-gun right is ok with medical cannabis these days. Some have even accepted recreational use as well, but there is still a huge part of the Republican right resisting cannabis legalization, and insisting we be locked in prison for growing it. If that's how you feel, than stop claiming to believe in freedom. Stop pretending you believe in the founding principals of this country. You don't. You want your guns, which can hurt many people, but refuse to respect the rights of others who want to smoke a plant which can hurt no one, even by accident. You are a hypocrite plain and simple.

As the pro-gun right feels the wrath of those trying to take their rights away, I want you to take a minute to consider that the cannabis community has endured a thousand times worse. We have had the right to our health, and our bodies striped from us. Many of us have been locked in prison. We have endured the slurs and lies of the mainstream media for decades, and have been forced to go into hiding deep in the woods in order to practice our way of life. We have been demonized as monsters, drug addicts, and villains coming to destroy communities, and kill your children. Now that you are in the position to defend your rights, your way of life against those trying to steal it, how does it feel? Because you have inflicted a thousand times worse to millions of cannabis users, distributors, and cultivators, for a over half a century.

Take a minute to think about that as you call for the country to come to your side, and defend your rights. Many people in your pro-gun community have aggressively attacked the rights of cannabis users for years. Now you have tiny piece of the pie we've been forced to eat. If they outlaw guns, and start locking up gun owners, maybe then you can understand what we have had to go through in order to be free. It comes down to one thing. If you believe in freedom, then you believe in freedom. If you don't, you don't. Stop trying to act like you believe in freedom, because if you don't believe in my right to cannabis than you don't believe in the right to life, you just like shooting your big ass guns.
