Last night was going to be the final night I get to eat exactly what I want and not feel guilty for it before the hardcore week of diet and exercise begins.

Mr Kipling - Viennese Whirls

Light shortbread swirl filled with fruity raspberry jam & a smooth creme filling.

Finally, I managed to get some of these bad boys that I was craving for all week. My followers will know that earlier on in the week I wanted these, but I settled for salted caramel truffles instead. I couldn’t wait to dive in! On first glance I noticed there was a little bit of a lack of quality control. There were a few whirls that were off centre. The jam was all one side and hanging off the edge of some of the whirls. Also the creme filling wasn’t all over the bottom of the whirl. Mr Kipling is well known for ’Exceedingly good cakes’. I felt like these should have looked a lot better than they did. Anyway that aside, the shortbread was really buttery and not too crumbly. The jam was nice and fruity and the creme was smooth as described. The cream tasted a bit like a custard cream biscuit.

These were really nice in flavour and texture. I didn’t think 6 of them was going to be enough. By the time I got to the 5th one, I was starting to struggle. Thankfully I had my glass of cold, fresh milk to help wash it all down. I did manage to finish all 6 of them, but I did regret it at the end. I feel like a right little piggy. Nice whirls and just needed to look a lot sharper!
