E. scheeri is a small species of cactus, with many stems and impressing bloom. Flowers and spines are variable. Spines may be longer, shorter (var. gentryi) or can be with no spines (CV Cucumis).
Both of my plants that you see in the photographs are still small in size because I often took out offshoots, changing them with other cactus enthusiasts for other species.

It is interesting that the flowers open in the evening and close in the morning. Tube is elongated, and nectar is provided, resulting in a nocturnal pollinator by long-tubed insects or is pollinated by humming birds.
But I caught a wasp this evening flying around, as you can see on the photo below. :)

Beautiful cacti!
Especially a pretty photo with a bee!
I have cacti with flowers opening at night.
But I like it better when cacti bloom in the afternoon.
I like all of them :) It doesn't matter when they open their flower :)
