Mediolobivia is a genus of small cacti plants, very rich in bloom. They are genetically closer to Aylostera than Rebutia, although officially they all still belong to the genus Rebutia, but I believe that it will be changed over time, according to the latest researches.
Unlike Rebutia, Mediolobivia and Aylostera are characterized by hairy pericarpel while Rebutie have naked pericarpel.

Personally, I like all species of Mediolobivia very much. Their bodies are small with gentle spines. The flowers are often pastel-tones, which at some species change/fade every following day. For this reason in bloom they seem to be very interesting, like you can see on photos of M. pygmaea mudanensis and M. pygmaea orurensis.

Enjoy the photos! 😊

My kind of cactus! Small plant, small spines and gorgeous big blooms!

By the way... I was googling yesterday all kinds of cacti and do you have Sulcorebutia rauschii? or any Sulcorebutia (pretty sure you do). Such a cool thing!

S. rauschii is must have plant. :) Of course I have it. But I like more S. hertusii, polymorpha, pasopayana... and yes, canigueralii!!

Oh, you are such a teaser :) Of course I googled them all. Pasopayana and canigueralii I like too :)

What a beauty!
I love cacti!
These are the first flowers that I started to collect.
I'll probably never have enough cacti!
Thank you for the names of cacti!
Me always short of it, because we have flowers in stores without a name!
With rare exceptions!

You're welcome! :)
