B&W Photo Contest Food Theme Entry 1: A banana leaf rice meal experience

A hearty South Indian banana leaf rice meal is one to be enjoyed when you are really hungry and fancy a big spicy appetising meal!

With a banana leaf as a plate, hot steaming white rice is loaded on until you say 'stop'; if you hesitate, you're likely to end up with a mountain! Then a server comes by, dishes out 3-4 various vegetables & pickles in little piles around your rice, while another asks you if you prefer chicken, fish or dhall curry on your rice... Or you might want a combination. Side dishes of curried chicken, lamb or fish, or fish cutlets are available too. Then comes the papadoms, which you must have extra! Then you're all set to start - do try to eat with your hand as it enhances the taste and the entire experience! Bon appetit!! 😋
